Each team will need to supply its own cooker. All types of cookers are welcome, however, you must also supply your own power source as there will be no electricity available. All cooking must be done on-site other than sauces.
Every team is assigned a 20βx20β area. This is an uncovered area, Plan to bring your own tent, etc. All cookers, supplies and all equipment must remain within the teamβs designated area. Please keep your area clean during the event. Once the event is over please clean your area leaving nothing behind.
EACH TEAM WILL GET 12 RACKS OF BABY BACK RIBS SUPPLIED BY GRUNDHOFERβS. In the event a team is unable to cook all 12, theyβll be given to another team. Teams are responsible for all other supplies necessary to compete, including ash bucket.
Absolutely no outside alcohol is allowed. Any individual or team that is found in violation of this rule will be disqualified immediately. There will be several outdoor bars staffed during the day, one of which will be open early for the competitors prior to the public sampling.
Doors open at 6:30am. Teams will be directed by staff to their designated spot to unload. Once unloading is done, vehicles and trailers must be parked in the designated parking area.
A mandatory meeting will be held at approximately 8am when the gates close. All competitors must be ready for the public tasting by 4 pm with winners announced at 5. Celebrity panel of 4-5 judges will select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
